If you want to get to Bangkok from Pattaya, here are your best options. Unless you have a friend drive you or you have rented a car then you can either get a taxi or take the bus. Both are very convenient but your decision will rely on your budget, how many bags you have and whether you’re in a hurry.
You do have a third option to get a minivan and it’s OK if you are on an extremely tight budget. They will take you to Victory Monument in the center of Bangkok. There is a BTS station right at Victory Monument so if you’re packed fairly light then it can work too.
There is a large minivan service that is set up right along Central Festival Shopping Mall on the north side. The minivans don’t have any English writing on them and the service staff will have very limited English-speaking skills if any at all. Not included in the best options.
How To Get A Taxi To Bangkok From Pattaya
Taxi is by far the easiest and fastest way to get to Bangkok from Pattaya. There are taxi stands set up all over the tourist district and all you have to do is walk up and tell them you want to go to Bangkok. The taxis in Pattaya all have a sign on the door that says “metered taxi” but don’t expect any to ever use the meter. It won’t happen but you can haggle a price. If you don’t like the first price, you won’t have far to go to find a different taxi stand.
You shouldn’t pay any more than about 1200 baht but they might charge you a little more than that depending on how many people are going and how much luggage you all have.
You can get your hotel to call a taxi for you but then you’re pretty much stuck having to pay whatever price they come up with.
